  • At Browns Plains Medical Centre & Skin Cancer Clinic, we are committed to treating all patients with respect, kindness, and professionalism. We understand that health concerns can be stressful, but we have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of abusive or aggressive behavior.

    • Abusive, aggressive, or intimidating behavior—whether verbal or physical—towards our staff or other patients will not be tolerated.

    • Patients who engage in such behavior will face an immediate ban and transfer to another healthcare provider.

    • We are dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for our staff and patients.

    We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a respectful and caring medical practice.

  • At Browns Plains Medical Centre & Skin Cancer Clinic, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise. However, timely cancellations allow us to offer appointments to other patients in need.

    • Please inform reception at least 2 hours before your scheduled appointment if you are unable to attend.

    • Failure to provide adequate notice will result in a non-attendance (DNA) fee that must be paid before any future appointments.

    Non-Attendance (DNA) Fees

    • If you do not attend a confirmed appointment or fail to provide at least 2 hour’s notice, a $40 fee will be incurred.

    • This MUST be paid in full before any future appointments can be booked.

    • Missed appointments will be recorded in your patient file.

    Fee Payment & Notification

    • All notices regarding non-attendance fees will be sent via email or post.

    • Payment must be made prior to booking any further appointments.

    We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us provide timely healthcare services to all patients.

  • Our medical centre primarily operates on an appointment basis to ensure efficient patient care.

    • Appointments can be booked online anytime via the HotDoc App.

    • Alternatively, you can call the practice during opening hours to schedule an appointment.

    We encourage patients to book in advance; however, walk-in appointments may be accommodated depending on doctor availability. Please contact us for more information.

    All patient records are the property of Browns Plains Medical Centre & Skin Cancer Clinic. Wherever possible, we collect information directly from you, either through medical consultations or administrative processes. In some cases, we may also need to obtain relevant health information from other healthcare providers, including:

    • Treating specialists

    • Radiologists & pathologists

    • Hospitals & other medical institutions

    • Other third parties involved in your care

    We have strict security measures in place to ensure that your health information remains protected and is only accessible to authorised staff. Your personal details will never be shared with third parties without your explicit consent, except when legally required.

    If you have any concerns about your privacy or the handling of your medical records, please speak with your doctor or our reception staff.

    To support this, we offer a reminder system for various clinical needs, including appointments, follow-ups, and preventive health screenings.

    • We send scheduled health reminders via SMS to help patients stay up to date with preventive care.

    • SMS reminders are also used for appointment confirmations and bookings.

    • Our practice participates in National, State, and Territory Reminder Systems to ensure continuity of care.

    If you do not wish to receive reminders, please inform our reception team to opt-out of this service.

  • At Browns Plains Medical Centre & Skin Cancer Clinic, we are committed to infection prevention and control to ensure the safety of our patients, staff, and community.

    • Patients experiencing flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, or shortness of breath) are required to inform reception before their appointment.

    • Face masks may be required for certain patients or in high-risk situations.

    • We follow strict hygiene and sanitisation protocols, including frequent cleaning of high-contact areas.

    • Telehealth appointments may be available for patients with COVID-19 symptoms or those in isolation.

  • At Browns Plains Medical Centre & Skin Cancer Clinic, we understand that you may need to speak with your Doctor or Nurse during our operating hours.

    • If the person you wish to speak with is unavailable, you may leave a message with our reception staff, and they will arrange for them to return your call as soon as possible.

    • For urgent matters, please inform the receptionist, and they will prioritise your request.

    • Our staff will take your details and will only interrupt a consultation if the issue is urgent.

    We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring the best possible care for all our patients.

  • If you have undergone a test, please contact the clinic 2–3 working days after the test, or as advised by your doctor, to obtain your results.

    • Patients will be notified through our Recall and Reminder System if a follow-up appointment is required.

    • If no follow-up is needed, we do not routinely contact patients.

    • For privacy and confidentiality reasons, some test results cannot be provided over the phone.

    To discuss your results, please book an appointment with your doctor. If you have any concerns, feel free to speak with our reception team.

    • We comply with child protection laws and have policies in place to safeguard children and vulnerable individuals.

  • Our practice is registered to access My Health Record, a secure online summary of your health information. This system allows healthcare providers to access and share important medical details to support better and more coordinated care.

    • Services: The clinic provides walk-in urgent care for illnesses and injuries not anticipated to be life-threatening, such as simple fractures, infections, earaches, minor burns, and minor head injuries. ​

  • Home visits are available at the discretion of the treating doctor and are offered only under certain conditions for ongoing patients who meet the following criteria:

    • Immobile patients

    • Elderly patients

    • Patients with disabilities
